Professional Bio
I am currently a doctoral student at the University of Detroit Mercy. I obtained my undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan where I contributed to bipolar research with the Heinz C. Prechter Bipolar Research Program. My current research at Detroit Mercy centers around ego defense mechanisms and conscious coping strategies. I am particularly interested in families dealing with severe psychopathology and hope to own a practice that integrates individualized and family-focused therapy. Beyond academia, I am driven by a passion for enhancing mental health outcomes within families facing the complexities of severe psychopathology, especially within marginalized communities. I have a special interest and care for LGBTQ+ related issues and strive to make contributions to the field that support this population.
