Shannon Thomson is currently a fourth-year Clinical Psychology Ph.D. Candidate at the Derner School of Psychology, Adelphi University. Shannon holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from SUNY Cortland, a Master's degree in General Psychology from Adelphi University, and a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology en passant from Adelphi University. Previously, she worked in multiple labs but currently works in Dr. Robert F. Bornstein's lab, conducting research on detachment, examining underlying dynamics amongst detached personalities, and engaging with personality assessment. Shannon's ongoing dissertation work involves comparing categorical and dimensional models of personality pathology severity among those with detached personalities. Shannon's accomplishments include three presentations at international conferences, publishing two peer-reviewed journal articles, three peer-reviewed poster abstracts, receiving a student research grant, and earning Adelphi University's 2024 George Stricker Fellowship Award as recognition for her quality and quantity of research.
