APRN Membership & Involvement Opportunities

APRN Membership

Membership in the APRN involves joining our organized collaborative network of practitioners and researchers dedicated to studying and advancing the impact and clinical utility of psychological assessment. APRN membership is free and open to any individual who is currently - or aspires to be - involved in the practice and/or research of psychological assessment. Those interested in joining the APRN are asked to submit a Membership Interest Form.

What Time Commitment is Required of APRN Membership?

Although there is no required time commitment for APRN membership, the amount of time and energy you are asked to contribute depends on your desired level of involvement. No commitment is required for members only interested in staying up-to-date about APRN projects and developments in assessment utility and impact research, whereas members serving on one of the APRN’s four leadership committees are required to attend biannual leadership meetings (virtual) and to commit the time and effort necessary to meet their committee responsibilities.

What Involvement Opportunities are Available to APRN Members?

Several involvement opportunities are available to APRN members and vary in their level of commitment. The following summarizes the main opportunities available to members:

  • Serve as a research participant in an APRN study.

    • Based on the specific study for which you volunteer, your participation could range from completing a brief online questionnaire to administering a psychological assessment.

  • Volunteer to assist with administrative needs of the APRN.

    • Administrative tasks can include helping in the collection and organization of literature on the utility of psychological assessment, helping recruit study participants, assisting with data entry, or other similar tasks.

  • Apply to serve on one of the APRN’s leadership committees.

    • Ethics Committee: Ethical oversight of the APRN

    • Research Committee: Proposal, design, and management of APRN studies

    • Financial Committee: Financial management and coordination of grant applications

What Benefits Come From APRN Membership?
