Abstract
This advanced, 90 minute webinar will provide an overview of the role of psychologists in primary care with an emphasis on the role of psychodynamic assessment.
Goals
After attending this webinar attendees will be able to:
- Describe the influence of that psychoanalysis had on the development of primary care specialties
- Describe how a psychoanalytic framework can help to assess physicians’ negative emotional reactions toward difficult patients
- List two types of psychological assessment that takes place in primary care and how a psychodynamic approach can aid in understanding patients’ subjective experiences of there medical and psychosocial problems
